Campaigns

Campaigns group related posts together under a shared theme, goal, or time period. They're the primary way to organize your content strategy in Automrktr.

What Is a Campaign?

A campaign is a named collection of posts that share:

  • A content theme (e.g., "Product Launch", "Customer Stories", "Weekly Tips")
  • Target platforms (which social networks to post to)
  • An optional date range (start and end dates)
  • AI settings for content generation (tone, style, hashtags)
  • An optional approval workflow

Think of campaigns as folders that give structure to your content calendar. Every post belongs to either a campaign or is a standalone post.

Creating a Campaign

1. Go to Campaigns in the sidebar.

2. Click New Campaign.

3. Fill in:

- Name — a clear, descriptive title

- Description — what this campaign is about

- Target Platforms — which platforms to post on

- Start Date / End Date — optional; leave blank for ongoing campaigns

- Content Themes — keywords or topics to guide AI generation

- Posting Frequency — how often posts should be created (e.g., 3x per week)

- Requires Approval — toggle on if posts need approval before publishing

4. Configure AI Settings:

- Tone — Professional, Casual, Humorous, Inspirational, Educational, etc.

- Style — Short and punchy, Long-form, Story-driven, etc.

- Hashtag Strategy — Auto-suggest, Fixed list, or None

5. Click Create Campaign.

Campaign Statuses

StatusMeaning
DraftCampaign created but no posts generated yet
ActiveCampaign is live; posts are being scheduled and published
PausedCampaign is temporarily stopped; scheduled posts are held
CompletedCampaign has passed its end date or was manually completed

To change a campaign's status, open the campaign and click the status badge to toggle it.

Generating Posts for a Campaign

Automrktr can automatically generate a batch of posts for your campaign using AI.

1. Open the campaign.

2. Click Generate Posts.

3. Choose how many posts to generate.

4. Automrktr uses your campaign's theme, brand voice, and platform selection to write content and suggest images.

5. Review each generated post and either:

- Approve — schedule it as-is

- Edit — modify before scheduling

- Regenerate — request a different version

- Discard — skip this post

Each generated post costs AI credits. See [AI Content Generation](./05-ai-content-generation.md) for credit costs.

Auto-Generate Mode

With Auto-Generate enabled, Automrktr automatically creates and schedules posts for the campaign based on your defined frequency — no manual triggering needed.

Enable it in campaign settings:

1. Open the campaign.

2. Toggle Auto-Generate Posts on.

3. Set the frequency (e.g., every Tuesday and Thursday at 10 AM).

4. Automrktr will generate, schedule, and (if approval is off) publish posts automatically.

Tip: Auto-generate works best once you've configured your brand voice and campaign themes carefully. Spend a few minutes dialing in the AI settings before enabling it.

Campaign AI Settings

These settings control how AI generates content for this specific campaign, overriding your organization's defaults.

SettingOptionsEffect
ToneProfessional, Casual, Humorous, Inspirational, EducationalSets the overall voice
StyleShort and punchy, Story-driven, List-based, Question-ledSets content structure

Campaign Analytics

Each campaign has its own analytics view showing:

  • Total posts published
  • Aggregate impressions and reach across all posts
  • Average engagement rate
  • Best-performing post in the campaign
  • Platform breakdown (how each platform performed)

Open a campaign and click the Analytics tab to see campaign-level reporting.

Content Series

Series are a lighter-weight alternative to campaigns for recurring content formats. Examples: "Monday Motivation", "Product Spotlight Friday", "Client Success Stories".

  • Create a series in Series from the sidebar.
  • Assign posts to a series at creation time.
  • Series appear as a dedicated row in the Calendar view for easy visual tracking.

Pausing and Ending Campaigns

Pausing:

  • Open the campaign and click Pause.
  • All scheduled posts are held and will not publish until the campaign is resumed.
  • Resume by clicking Activate.

Completing:

  • Click Mark as Completed to archive the campaign.
  • All published posts remain in Analytics; no new posts can be created.

Deleting:

  • Campaigns can be deleted from the menu (⋯) in the campaigns list.
  • Deleting a campaign does not delete its published posts — they remain in your post history.
  • Scheduled posts within the campaign are cancelled on deletion.
