Connecting Social Accounts

How to Connect a Platform
1. Go to Settings → Platforms.
2. Find the platform card and click Connect.
3. You'll be redirected to that platform's login and authorization page.
4. Approve the requested permissions — Automrktr needs permission to post, read analytics, and optionally read comments.
5. After authorization, you'll return to Automrktr and the platform will show as Connected.
Facebook — Selecting a Page
Facebook requires an extra step after OAuth:
1. After connecting your Facebook account, go to Settings → Facebook → Select Page.
2. Choose which Facebook Page you want to post to (your personal profile cannot be used for business posts).
3. Click Connect Page.
Reconnecting a Platform
Social platform access tokens expire periodically. If a platform shows Reconnect needed:
1. Click Reconnect on the platform card.
2. Complete the authorization flow again.
3. All scheduled posts for that platform will resume automatically.
Disconnecting a Platform
1. Go to Settings → Platforms.
2. Click the menu (⋯) on the platform card.
3. Select Disconnect.
Note: Disconnecting a platform will not delete your scheduled posts. They will remain in Draft status and can be re-scheduled after reconnecting.
Platform-Specific Notes
- Instagram requires a Facebook Business Page linked to an Instagram Professional Account.
- Standard personal Instagram accounts cannot be connected directly.
- Reels and Stories are supported but may have platform-imposed size and duration limits.
- Automrktr posts to your LinkedIn Company Page, not your personal profile.
- Make sure you are an admin of the Company Page you want to connect.
Twitter/X
- Twitter/X API access requires approval from X. If your account was created after 2023, you may need to apply for API access at developer.x.com before connecting.
TikTok
- TikTok posting is available on Growth and higher plans.
- Video posts are uploaded and scheduled; TikTok does not allow programmatic publishing of Stories.
Follower & Audience Sync
Automrktr automatically syncs your follower counts and audience data daily. You can see:
- Current follower count per platform
- Follower growth over time in Analytics
- Audience demographics (where available from the platform API)
These are visible in Analytics → Audience.
Unified Inbox
The Inbox brings comments and direct messages from all connected platforms into one place.
Comments
- View all comments on your posts across every platform.
- Reply to comments directly from Automrktr — your reply posts back to the original platform.
- AI Reply Suggestions: Automrktr can draft a response for you. Click Suggest Reply on any comment to generate one, then review and send.
- Mark comments as Resolved or Archived to keep your inbox clean.
Direct Messages (DMs)
- View and reply to DMs from Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, and LinkedIn (where supported by the platform API).
- Automrktr can suggest DM responses using AI — click Suggest Reply to generate a draft.
Settings
Go to Inbox → Settings to configure:
- Which platforms to sync comments and DMs from.
- How often to sync (near-real-time or hourly).
- Notification preferences for new messages.
Engagement Metrics
Automrktr syncs engagement data from each platform automatically. For each published post you'll see:

Analytics are available in Analytics → Overview and on individual post detail pages.
Troubleshooting Publishing Errors
If a post fails to publish, it will be marked Failed in your calendar and post list.
Common causes:
- Expired access token (platform disconnected) — reconnect the platform and retry.
- Media file format not supported by the platform.
- Caption too long for the platform's character limit.
- Platform API outage (temporary) — Automrktr will retry automatically.
Retry behavior:
- Automrktr retries failed posts automatically: first at 5 minutes, then 15 minutes, then 45 minutes.
- After 3 failed attempts, the post is marked Failed and requires manual review.
- Click Retry on any failed post to trigger an immediate re-attempt.
